How WIT Community Works

“Being part of WC gave me a place to become an entrepreneur and build a business. It also gave me a space to be creative and think I could be different things when I’m older, not just one thing. It gave me something I didn’t have in other programs or school.”
- Tillie P. (Boca Raton, Florida)

FAQs
We have a feeling you’ve got some questions.
We’ve got answers!

Question: I’ve got a lot of homework!! How do I do WIT and juggle school?
Answer: First off, homework sucks. Second, being part of the WIT Community means that you can do as much, or as little as you want. It also means that there will be times when you are super engaged and attending all the sessions, and sometimes when school work is a lot and you might just attend one or two sessions. Oh, and there’s no homework at WIT!

Question: I’m already doing a lot of zoom-ing, is the WIT Community a lot zoom?
Answer: WIT Hangouts are done 4 times a month and they last between 60-90 minutes. At WIT we focus more on “doing”, so even when you’re on a zoom there is an activity, so you aren’t just starring at a screen. The rest of the connecting is done on your own time via slack and any other hangouts you want to attend.

Question: I don’t really think I am an entrepreneur, should I still join?
Answer: Well, we think you just might be! A lot of times we don’t even know what we are or what we could be because we haven’t been given a chance to explore the many different sides of us. Let’s just say that if you have a desire to make a difference in the world and if you want to be around peers and leaders who also share that desire, join WIT.

Question: I don’t know if my parents can afford this?
Answer: We get it, that’s why we offer financial aid. We don’t want $$$ to keep you from applying!

Question: I already have a business, why would I join?
Answer: Congrats on launching your business!! Yes, WIT provides amazing access to people who could turn out to be mentors, advisors, investors, etc.. We also have access to press opportunities.

Question: I don’t have a business idea, and I think I may want to start a non-profit, or just learn how to launch something, will WIT be a fit?
Answer: Hey, that rhymes! Yes, WIT will be a fit for you because it’s a place where you can learn, make mistakes, try new things, connect with peers, and gain more clarity on the answer to, “What do I want to be when I grow up?”

Question: Why do I have to apply to be part of this?
Answer: It’s incredibly important to WIT that the people who are part of the WIT Community want to be here. We have experts from around the world who are committed to helping you and we want to make sure that anyone they work with is ready and committed to “doing WIT”.

Question: I don’t really understand why I have to pay and why it costs so much - can you explain it?
Answer: Good question. First off, we have a staff that runs this program and the money you pay goes towards their salary. We also pay some of our experts for their time. In addition, we provide financial aid to some families and part of the cost goes into that fund. Oh, and we do prizes and gift card giveaways a lot, so funds also go towards those things.

If we didn’t answer your question, please don’t hesitate to EMAIL US directly.
