Drawn to Dreams
Drawing has always been one of the things I love most. It’s not just a hobby—it’s how I express myself, clear my mind, and feel confident. Art has given me so much over the years, and I started to think: what about the kids who never get that chance? What if they love art too, but can’t afford even the basic supplies like paper, crayons, or markers?
That’s where my idea for Drawn to Dreams came from.
I created Drawn to Dreams as a way to address a problem I truly care about: helping children who lack access to art supplies. I know how much art has helped me, and I want other kids to have the same chance to discover how powerful creativity can be. My idea is to sell my own artwork and use the money to buy and donate art supplies to schools or programs that need them. It’s a small way to give something back using something I already love to do.
Since starting the program, I’ve created original art pieces that I’m preparing to sell. I also made a phone call to a local school to ask if they would be interested in receiving donated art supplies. It might seem like a small thing, but for me it was a big step. It felt like turning my idea into real action. I’m proud that I’ve already taken steps to make a difference, even though my business is just getting started.
Running a business as a teen—even a small one—isn’t easy. It takes time, energy, and courage. I’ve had to push myself out of my comfort zone, especially when it came to calling the school and reaching out to others. But what’s kept me motivated is the idea that somewhere, a kid might get to draw for the first time with something I helped provide. That’s worth every bit of effort.
My goal is to continue growing Drawn to Dreams. I want to sell more art, connect with more schools, and eventually donate supplies to entire classrooms. I also want to raise awareness that a lot of kids are missing out on creative opportunities simply because they don’t have access to materials. Art shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be something every child can experience.
Drawn to Dreams isn’t just a business. It’s a mission. And while I know I’m just at the beginning, I feel proud that I’ve already taken the first steps to turn my passion into something that can help others.
